Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” – Henry Ford
That’s right! Thirty years ago, a group of recycling pros from the private and public sector came together to form the Maryland Recyclers Coalition (MRC).
The group’s mission was to bring together stakeholders from every facet
of the recycling community including county coordinators, agencies,
non-profit organizations, businesses, and recycling activists to work
towards building a better Maryland. In 2009, the organization rebranded
as the Maryland Recycling Network.
Since its inception, MRN has worked to serve as a resource providing education and events (webinars, idea breaks, tours, annual conferences) and information to
professionals and the public on current trends and policies as well as
serving as a connection point between members, and between the recycling
community and the public.
Most importantly, MRN has become a strong presence on the Maryland legislative front advocating
for sensible legislative initiatives that achieve the goals in a cost-
and time-effective manner without creating unintended consequences for
our communities.
