Thirty-one years and counting as a voice for the Maryland recycling community. That is what MRN has been since 1991 (when it was known as Maryland Recycling Coalition) and will strive to continue to be for the next 30+ years.
To celebrate, longtime members joined with some not-so-longtime members on Tuesday, November 15, to share stories and lessons learned along the way plus their visions for the future. We began with a warm welcome from MRN President Maria Myers followed by a delicious lunch and dessert.
After lunch, we welcomed Maryland State Delegate Dana Stein
, long-time supporter, who gave us an update on where we are on legislative issues and what we can expect to see for the 2023 legislative session. Stay up to date on MRN legislative agenda on our Legislative & Regulatory page.
We also took a moment to recognize Delegate Stein’s commitment to our mission by presenting him with the MRN Delegate for Life Award
The afternoon ended with a robust round of recycling trivia, led by Richard Keller, on the history of MRN and recycling in general. The game also led to some lively conversations and plenty of laughs. Test your trivia knowledge here
Here’s to another 30 years!
