Please join us for a tour of
ECO City's Bladensburg Farm. One of three ECO City farms, the
Bladensburg Farm is situated on 3.5 acres of land formerly occupied by three multifamily apartment buildings. It provides healthy food for the residents of the adjacent subsidized housing complex and the larger “healthy food deprived” neighborhood.
The farm employs permaculture and season-extension techniques to its large productive growing space and features a “Compost Outpost”, where they produce all of the compost used on-farm – circularity in action. They also offer a wormhouse, Beginning Farmer Training Program growing tunnel, community growing plots, beehives and an orchard and food forest.
Learn more about their commitment to just, vigorous and sustainable food system in the Chesapeake foodshed.
The tour runs from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Please wear closed-toe shoes for safety and bring your own water.
