We are proud to announce our partnership with
Food Waste Prevention Week, a national campaign taking place September 28 to October 4.
As a FWPW partner, we join forces with more than 600 public and private organizations to support the mission of reducing food waste in our homes, workplaces, and communities. Together, we can inspire action and create meaningful change.
Food Waste Prevention Week is based on EPA, USDA, and FDA's
"Winning on Reducing Food Waste" initiative, which aims to cut food waste by 50% by 2030. And the need for action is clear: nearly one-third of all food is lost or wasted from farm to fork, while 1 in 5 American households with children lacks consistent access to nutritious food. Yet only 13% of donatable surplus food is recovered, and 23 million tons of wasted food end up in landfills each year, where they generate methane, a powerful contributor to climate change.
The good news is that these challenges also present an opportunity. By recovering more surplus food and keeping it out of landfills, we can reduce waste while also conserving resources, supporting families, and building stronger, more resilient communities. And across the country, organizations are developing innovative approaches to food recovery that are making a real difference.
On
September 30, we’ll be highlighting two organizations that are doing just that.

Join us at
12 p.m. ET for
Food Recovery: Strategies for Success, a free webinar highlighting two programs that divert tons of edible wasted food from the landfill to feed millions of food insecure Americans every year.
You'll hear from leaders at
FarmLink and the
National Food Recovery Association as they share how their food recovery programs are rescuing surplus food, reducing waste and helping feed millions of Americans. They’ll also offer practical ideas and lessons learned that communities can put into action.
Let’s make a difference together!
