MRN Member Feature: Ford Schumann

The Journey to Infinity and Beyond!

A FREE Webinar brought to you by MRN

From its humble beginnings in the late 1980s picking up newspaper in a Volkswagen bus and an eight-foot trailer to a full-service, non-profit recycling facility, Infinity Recycling, Inc. has grown into a respected organization serving communities in Kent, Queen Anne’s, Caroline, and Talbot counties. And it all started with Ford Schumann who, after waging a successful fight against a trash incinerator as president of a local environmental watchdog organization, saw a need to turn the current volunteer-ran recycling collection program into a comprehensive public service that would also be a job maker.

It became obvious to me that in order to have serious recycling, people should be paid to do that challenging work, so I established Infinity Recycling as a non-profit organization, that acts as a public service. – Ford Schumann

On Thursday, July 22, join us at 10:30 a.m. ET as we talk with MRN Patron member Ford Schumann about his journey from president of Kent Conservation & Preservation Alliance to the founder of Infinity Recycling, Inc. Hear how Ford’s inspiration to establish the non-profit sprung from the two-year fight against the trash incinerator and learn more about Infinity’s history, its current process and what lies ahead. Check out a brief taste of our conversation.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

*Our Member Feature webinar series looks into how recycling is being handled in our member organizations, leading into a bigger group discussion about recycling throughout the state. Have a story to share? Let us know at
