Today is America Recycles Day® (ARD) and we are proud to once again support the initiative! This year is especially excited to do so this year in light of the recent positive growth in certain recycling markets, and Maryland’s market recycling development legislation.
The 2021 Maryland Legislative session is in the books and once again, MRN has been involved in several relevant bills working with legislative members and other organizations offering support, making recommendations and testifying where needed.
National Volunteer Week is next week and we can’t think of a better time to sincerely thank all our volunteers that have kept MRN up and running especially after a difficult year.
What is EPR? In brief, EPR, also known as Product Stewardship, places responsibility for end-of-life product management on producers and other companies involved in the product chain while encouraging design changes that make products more recyclable.
The Maryland General Assembly is back in session for 2021 and the MRN Legislative Action Committee, led by Chaz Miller, has already jumped into action. The Committee will be following a number of relevant bills dealing with everything from EPR to recycling market development and more.
