Nominate Your Favorite Individual or Program for a NRC Award

Do you know someone that is an expert leader in the solid waste industry? Or a recycling program that knocks it out of the park? The National Recycling Coalition has announced its “Call for Nominations” for the 2019 Awards! The awards will be presented at the Resource Recycling Conference August 26-28, 2019 in New Orleans. 

All you need to do is write TWO word documents – a summary of 150 words and 1000 words or less on how the nominee meets the criteria (self-nominations allowed). Submit your nomination by clicking here.

  1. NRC’s Lifetime Achievement Award (person)
  2. Bill Heenan Emerging Leader Award (person)
  3. Outstanding (State) Recycling Organization
  4. Outstanding (For-Profit) Business Leadership
  5. Outstanding Non-Profit Business Leadership
  6. Outstanding Community or Government Program
  7. Outstanding (Community/Agency) Outreach Program
  8. Outstanding Higher Education (College / University) Program

Criteria for Awards 1-7:  Impacts on hierarchy / tonnage; longevity; innovativeness / leadership; and (for all but awards 1 & 2) economics / cost-effectiveness.

Criteria for Award 8:  awarded to a college / university with an exceptional program in recycling or in connecting higher education and the industry in the areas of degrees, applied research / tech transfer, career services, and links with recycling industries.
